O’Rourke Construction Ltd (OCL) were awarded a 132kv package from our client.
The OCL team undertook various works on the project including:
- Supplied all site management and resources for the project
- Supplied all plant, equipment & materials for the project
- Supplied all cable plant, equipment and accessories
- Installation of 6no. Cable sealing end (CSE) structure foundations
- CSE structure installations.
- CSE’s installation
- Installation of trackway
- 1000m of trench excavation and duct installation works – Works encountered very challenging ground conditions within a peat bog and typical Scottish adverse weather conditions. Excavation and duct installation install as per design.
- 1no. road crossing excavation and reinstatement
- 1000m of 132kv HVDC cable installation from North Kyle substation to New Cumnock substation.
- Installed, erected and secured cables to the CSE structures
- OCL supplied the crane for lifting the cables and securing to the cable supports stands on the CSE structures
- Supplied scaffold from design to erection for the cable installation at the convertor station.
- Fibre Optic installation, including excavation of intermediate pits
- Link box constructed and installed at joint bay
- Fibre optic chambers constructed and installed throughout the route
- Reinstatement works of joint bay, both substation bell mouths and full easement reinstated with topsoil.
