O’Rourke Construction are currently recruiting suitably qualified, competent and experienced site managers. With civil engineering contract works nationwide, particularly in telecoms/utilities/civil engineering, including high voltage cabling projects, this presents an opportunity to join a fast-growing Civil Engineering company.
The role involves the successful execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines. You will play a key role in managing site operations, coordinating with various stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will be able to work to a fast-paced programme delivering success by teamwork, collaboration and strong leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility and control of all site staff and sub-contractors, ensuring that all contractors/subcontractors comply with my clients Health and Safety standards.
- To comply with company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provide support to Project Managers through producing accurate and timely information.
- To ensure short and medium contract programmes are planned, reviewed, and delivered. Enforcing and managing on-site Health and Safety, completing on-site work permits and making sure everyone onsite is wearing PPE.
- Undertake audits on quality of works.
- Carry out site inductions and complete relevant paperwork.
- Maintain site records, daily labour and plant allocation sheets, site diaries, toolbox talks and all other records as required.
- Ensure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required.
- Provide accurate weekly timesheets.
- Manage all site arrangements to ensure that CDM requirements are met within projects. Plan and manage forward resource planning, orders as required and reporting on supply chain performance/ deliveries.
- To monitor progress periodically against the project plan and monitor expenditure for labour plant & materials, resolving issues but may escalate critical operational issues.
- Instruct the off hiring of plant/equipment to eliminate needless spending.
- Identify and manage potential risks and opportunities for the project.
- Review and understand construction drawings.
- Daily & weekly work/picture progress for general works on site.
- Prepare information for valuations by reporting against subcontractor progress, materials on site, variations, day work etc.
- Liaise with the Project Manager to resolve any technical issues outside of the scope of works.
- Liaise with the Project manager and Quantity Surveyor to align forecast and deliverables.
